The Fondazione THE BANK ETS – Istituto per gli Studi sulla Pittura Contemporanea presents Tra due fiumi (Between Two Rivers), an exhibition devoted to the painting of Luca Andreatta, curated by Paolo Zanatta, on view from 6 to 29 November 2026 at the Chiesetta dell’Angelo, Via Roma 38, Bassano del Grappa. The project guides visitors into the gaze of an artist deeply rooted in the Veneto landscape.

The Gaze
Everything begins with a concrete experience: thousands of kilometres travelled through a landscape of roads, roundabouts and warehouses, seen through a misted windscreen. Andreatta’s painting is born from that thin veil, which softens outlines and returns things as apparitions. His is a practice that does not merely represent, but seeks a spiritual, human and existential dimension in an age dominated by speed, production and consumption.

The Time of the Work
Each work is born from a slow process. It passes through the body, through places and through time shared with others, supported by writing, photography, music and reading: painting thus becomes the outcome of patient attention, the opposite of the quick, distracted gaze that dominates the present.

The Roots
Andreatta’s roots are Venetian, pictorial and literary: from Giorgione to Jacopo Bassano and Tintoretto, from Zanzotto to Comisso and Rigoni Stern. Alongside this heritage runs a dialogue with Munch, Hopper and Hockney.

Subjects and Message
The subjects are deliberately minimal: the provinces, the margins, whatever seems ordinary yet holds what is essential. The project proposes art as a form of care and attention to places and people, far removed both from postcard nostalgia and from ideological polemic. In this sense, the exhibition forms part of an ongoing effort to promote contemporary painting and artists connected to the Veneto region.

The exhibition, made possible with the support of Integra Business Consulting, is open to the public on Fridays from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Free admission.
